A Message of Support for Our Grantees 

As the COVID-19 pandemic drastically affects the world, our country, and our community, we are aware that many of our grantee partners face unprecedented challenges and concerns. What remains constant in this time of uncertainty is Pritzker Military Foundation’s unwavering commitment and support for the organizations and people we support through our grantmaking and impact investments. 

We continue to closely monitor any news related to the spread of COVID-19 and feel it’s important to send this message to share some of the ways we are approaching our role as philanthropic funders. Our goal is to provide as much flexibility, certainty, and stability as possible to our grantee partners as we all navigate this uncharted territory. 

At this time, the Pritzker Military Foundation will enact the following supportive measures: 

• Extend or reschedule reporting requirements: We understand that normal grant reporting requirements, site visits, and other commitments take away from the time you need to plan and respond appropriately to the current crisis. We will work with you to make adjustments, ensuring your time can be used in the most effective ways necessary. 

• Flexibility concerning benchmarks: Pritzker Military Foundation staff will work with each of our partners to amend grant benchmarks that cannot be met as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. Please contact us if your benchmarks are impacted by this crisis. 

• Maintain our funding commitments: Please be assured that previously awarded grants will continue to be paid on time. We have plans in place to ensure our ability to pay grantees with minimal disruption. 

In compliance with Illinois’ stay-at-home order, our staff is currently working remotely. However, we are available to provide assistance via email and encourage you to be in touch to let us know how you and your respective teams are managing.  

In order to assure maximum support for our current grantees and their immediate needs, grant applications for new projects and organizations will not be accepted until further notice. We are learning as we go and will work with you to consider your requests and provide the peace of mind necessary to meet any current challenges.
